Residential Building

Adolf Rading designed a single family home for his brother Ernst in Berlin-Zehlendorf in 1928/29. It was sited on a so-called second line placing further away from the street and was accessed through a separate entrance. The white stuccoed plat-roofed structure is convincing by way of its strict cubist shape. The different sized windows express the run of the rooms inside. Similar to the Rabe House, which Rading designed at the same time, a metal-lined glass bay window stands out from the otherwise homogenous façade.
This was Rading’s second building next to the Haeffner House in Berlin.
