Villa Bab
Harry Rosenthal could thank his brother Ernst Rosenthal, a banking officer at Eugen Bab & Co (Eubaco), for the commission to design the Bab country house. The expressionistic country house boasted a unique exterior and interior design: above a spacious ground floor stands a symmetrical structure with, on one side, two wings and a portico in between. The roof ended in two striking expressionistic stepped gables that now only partially remain. The interior of the country house was also extravagantly designed. In addition to the vibrant color scheme and Zarathustra frieze in the vestibule, the villa contained a private synagogue and a gym with a swimming pool. After the owner was expropriated, the building underwent several conversions and shops were installed. In the process, important interior components
and the private synagogue were lost.
