Max Fraenkel was a German architect and government architect with his main sphere of activity in Berlin. Max Fraenkel was the son of Rabbi Daniel Fraenkel and Julie Fraenkel, née Rosenstein. The family moved from Upper Silesia to the Lankwitz district of Berlin. The family had 12 children, including James Fränkel, who was one of the co-founders of psychotherapy in Berlin and established a hospital, the Berolinum. Max Fraenkel built six important buildings in Berlin, including his brother’s hospital and a house at Meinekestraße 10, where the most important Jewish institutions were located from 1924 to 1941. The Palestine Office of the Jewish Agency, the Zionist Association for Germany, the Jüdische Rundschau and other Zionist organizations were located in this building.”
